Frank Hartman - songs of Sinatra
Frank Hartman explores the 1500 plus song titles of the Sinatra Songbook and comes up with some really interesting off-beat tunes to tantalize ones ears. No other singer in the history of American recording artists, has ever come close to leaving such a rich legacy of music behind. His phrasing and breath control was incredible and when you listened to him, you swore that he was talking to you and you alone. For his ballads, he did what you call "dragging the beat", which is what a jazz musician does when he improvises. Unless you grew up in a family of Sinatra fans or you are a aficionado yourself, there will be songs at this show that you may never have heard before, including one or two songs that Sinatra never released in an album.
Frank Hartman was born and raised in Phila. YHEA-AAA and migrated to New Jersey. BOO-OO) but we forgive him. He is not an imitator, but he "draggs the beat" more than Sinatra did, so it should be an interesting night. Opening for Frank will be Janelle, from North Philly, a recent runner up winner in the Parx Casino talent contest in 2012. She's hot and spicy, smooth and silky. And she sings too.
