Bengali Gala 2017: Annual Fundraising Dinner
You are cordially invited to the Bengali Gala 2017 Annual Fundraising Dinner, which will be co-sponsored this year by Interfaith Community Sanctuary and Seattle First Baptist Church. The event will be held in the fellowship hall of Seattle First Baptist Church at 1111 Harvard Avenue in Seattle (First Hill area) on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 6:00-9:00 pm. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door. Children under 12 are free. Childcare is provided. Seating is limited, so purchase your tickets early! Parking is $5 for the evening in the lot by the church. Street parking is also available. Dinner is served promptly at 6:30 pm.
We have arranged for authentic South Asian food catered by Shalimar Restaurant in the University District. There will also be young Bengali folk and classical dancers and a young pianist. Jamal, Aysu and others will report on the progress of the Medical Clinic in their ancestral village of Chondipur, Bangladesh.
With generous support from our friends in 2016, we were able to expand clinic hours to 4 days a week, hire a full-time doctor and purchase land adjacent to the clinic which is the site of our future nursing school. But demand for medical services just keeps growing! So, this year we aim to raise $50,000, which will enable us to expand clinic hours even further,hire another doctor, and break ground on a driveway to provide vehicle access from the main road. Your generous support is deeply appreciated!
