Come and explore the wonder of symphonic music in a program designed for "kids" from 3 to 103! Kids will also have an opportunity to Meet the Instruments up close after the performance with some hands on opportunities in the percussion family AND a conducting lesson with our Maestro.
The glorious "Procession of the Nobles" by Rimsky-Korsakov will grab your attention immediately. The music bursts to life with a rousing brass flourish, soon followed by the processional music. A central section just as vigorous as the opening leads to a return of the march tune and a rousing close.
Begin your Holiday season early with the beloved music of Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker Ballet". A selection of the favorites will have you dancing in your seats.
Next up will be the 2017 SCMTA Concerto Competition winner, Kaitlyn Gia Lee from Mill Creek. Miss Lee will play the beloved Piano Concerto No. 23 in A Major (Adagio & Presto) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Recently having celebrated her 10th birthday, you will be absolutely amazed at her talent. (Not to mention the fact that she is adorable!)
Selections from Stravinsky's "Firebird Suite" will keep your attention and add to your excitement, and then you will have the opportunity to play with the orchestra in Leroy Anderson's beloved "Sleigh Ride".
