Vancouver Food Summit 2017
We acknowledge that we are on the unceded, occupied, ancestral and traditional lands of the Squamish, Musqueam, and Tsleil-Waututh nations. As we strive to understand our own relationships to each other and the land through food, it is important for us to also recognize the historical and ongoing colonial genocide against Indigenous peoples that make it possible for us to be here as settlers.
Co-hosted by Gordon Neighbourhood House and hua foundation, the Vancouver Food Summit will be an opportunity to bring together people from a wide variety of experiences within our food systems, using storytelling and shared dialogue to critically examine and deepen our collective understanding of food justice and meaningful cross-community collaboration.
Experience a showcase of 8 creative food projects and the people behind them, as each of the creators share their reflections, stories, and thoughts on what their work means within the broader challenges we face in our local food systems today.
Over the lunch break attendees will also be able to enjoy a Mini-Showcase Fair, where space will be created to exhibit and learn about other food-related creative projects, including podcasts, short films, zines, poetry, and other art.
We hope that you can join us!
