LATIN LIVES
LATIN LIVES is a journey inward,through the trials,triumphs, and tribulations of being Latino in todays New York City.
A theatre piece addressing various facets within Latino culture. It is a refreshing departure from the downbeat and often negative portrayals of the Latin experience. Challenging commonly held misconceptions, aiming to enlighten as well as entertain.
LATIN LIVES premiered September 28th 1992, and since then has garnered exceedingly positive responses with each incarnation of the show. It is a comedy rife with hilarious moments, but also has its share of thought-provoking passages.
This production includes strong language. Parental guidance is advised.
Robert Louis Maisonett - (creator) Graduated with a B.A. in Theatre from Lehman College and has numerous stage and film credits. He is the creative force behind LATIN LIVES, which has been produced in different incarnations since 1992.
Vanessa Ortiz is an original cast member. She is honored to return for the anniversary production. "Latin Lives has opened many doors for me!" She also has a recurring role in the Netflix series "Orange is the New Black", where she portrays new inmate "Yvette".
Alessio Araujo- is a born and raised New Yorker. He can be seen monthly in the sketch comedy competition "Bragging Rights" he is happy to be returning to this great production. Alessio also loves long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners for 2 (or depending on the night 3)
These two veterans will be joined by a marvelous array of talented new artist.
