Mark Guiliana Jazz Quartet
1/2 price for students at the door
Mark Guiliana's drumming encapsulates the goal of every jazz musician: a unique, personal sound. He has performed with a diverse list of top artists ranging from Brad Mehldau to Meshell Ndegeocello, and his energetic drumming played a large part in shaping the mood and direction of David Bowie's final album, Blackstar. Although he sometimes utilizes contemporary electronic processing to create a broadened sonic palatte, Mark's jazz quartet features purely acoustic instrumentation playing tightly arranged compositions mixed with sensitive, open-ended explorations. JazzTimes calls him, a technical master with a rare sense of musicality, (who) has become one of the most influential drummers of his generation. Mark was voted Best Jazz Drummer in the 2017 Modern Drummer Readers Poll and a Rising Star in Downbeat's Critics Poll. Jersey is the name of Guiliana's current CD.
