Celebrating 60 Years of Peace Activism; Ready for 60 More
Turning sixty is a milestone worthy of celebration. Massachusetts Peace Action celebrates sixty years of working for nuclear disarmament and peace this year.
The Committee for a SANE Nuclear Policy (SANE) was formed to ban the bomb in 1957. In 1979, the Nuclear Weapons Freeze Campaign was launched in Massachusetts. They merged in 1987 to form SANE/Freeze, which then changed its name to Peace Action.
So, in 2017 we are celebrating our sixtieth anniversary as well as the thirtieth anniversary of the merger of the two into Peace Action now the largest grassroots peace advocacy group in the United States.
We know we dont have anything more important to do than work for peace and support and celebrate Massachusetts Peace Action. We look forward to being with you for this celebration!
