Pictures 2008
Join the renowned HALCYON TRIO for PICTURES 2008, an evening of chamber music inspired by visual art. The concert features premiere performances of the winning pieces from the 3rd Annual NJAC Student Composition Contest. The 2008 contest asked NJ students to write music inspired by a George Inness painting in the Montclair Art Museum. HALCYON(clarinetist Andrew Lamy, violist Brett Deubner, and pianist Gary Kirkpatrick) will perform works by these talented students, who represent the best of NJ's young composers. In addition, the Trio will premiere the 2008 Ionisation Commission, a new work by New Jersey's own Christian Carey. Don't miss this exciting event!
Come early at 7:15pm to hear a pre-concert panel featuring Inness scholar, Adrienne Baxter Bell.
