Mapping Hollywood: Preserving Hollywood's Heritage Series - Free Event!
Historic maps are part of the preservation toolbox, and there is no one more knowledgeable or qualified in this field than Glen Creason. Please join us as he takes us on a visual tour of rare and unusual maps of Hollywood from it's early days up through today. Creason was a co-curator of the landmark map exhibit "Los Angeles Unfolded," the curator of the current exhibit "As the City Grew" and has written about history, maps and popular culture for local publications including the Downtown News, Mercators World, the Public Historian, the Communicator and the Los Angeles Times. He is the author of the book "Los Angeles in Maps" published by Rizzolli in 2010 and has been a speaker at local events including the Society for Professional Journalists, the Center for Land Use Interpretation, the California Map Society, the Library Foundation of Los Angeles, ALOUD and the Los Angeles Festival of Books. He is a native Angeleno, born and raised in South Gate and now living in Glassell Park.
