Pretty much every record I've ever recorded has been a 'live' record. Live insomuch as we were in a studio, pressed record, the band played the tune and that was it...no overdubs. Live.
Except we've never done an 'actual' live record. In front of an audience that is. I figured it was about time and Memphis is the place.
I hope you'll be a member of the audience when George Sluppick(drums), Michael Blake(saxophones) and me record our new record. It will be at the glorious Memphis Music Mansion the evenings of October 25, 26 & 27.
It's a private home in Midtown Memphis with a magnificently intimate space to perform. Each night we will welcome 50 guests to join the audience for the performance.
October is such a great time to be in Memphis, too. While you're here, you can visit STAX, Sun, Ardent and Royal Studios...tour the National Civil Rights Museum and the Ernest Withers Gallery...eat BBQ and Gus's Fried Chicken, catch a Grizzlies game and enjoy the Mississippi River.
