Washington based Company E will be conducting a week long residency, sharing their unique style of dance at local schools, before they perform NEXT: An Evening of Choreography of Israel and Spain at the ERJCC. Company E, a contemporary repertoire dance company, dance education and interdisciplinary arts organization based in the US capital city of Washington D.C., emphasizes international collaborations with the great choreographers and dancers at work today. The company of five dancers, under the Artistic Direction of Paul Gordon Emerson and Kathryn Sydell Pilkington, focus on the next generation of brilliant, cutting edge choreography. NEXT: An Evening of Choreography of Israel and Spain is an Israeli influenced program with four of the main five works connecting to Israel either directly or indirectly, and with two featuring artists who have appeared on the Kaplan Stage, Andrea Miller and Roni Koresh. The Spanish piece by a choreographic team from Barcelona had its world premiere recently in D.C. The program will include the following pieces. Alma, choreography by Rachel Erdos with original music by Alberto Schwarz of Tel Aviv, Inside Its Raining, also created by Rachel Erdos with original music by Alberto Schwarz, Dust (for Jack), choreography by Andrea Miller and music by Arvo Part, Theater of Public Secrets choreography by Roni Koresh, music by Eric Satie and Few choreography by Thomas Noone and Nuria Martinez, original score by Miguel Marin.
