The Nick Goumas Quintet at the Cabaret Cafe
Tenor and soprano saxophonist Nick Goumas is a jazz musician who has developed his own mature, imaginative and identifying style. Nick performs with energy, feeling and musical integrity. His quintet is joined by four outstanding Boston area musicians who all have outstanding credentials. Steve Hunt/piano, Bruce Gertz/bass, Ken Cervenka/trumpet and Jack Diefendorf/drums.
Drawing on the American Song Book, along with todays jazz standards, The Nick Goumas Quintets post Bebop contemporary straight ahead style and its display of rhythmic and harmonic sense produces some exciting jazz improvisations. Their growing audience has a mixture of musicians and jazz aficionados alike.
