JACK Quartet at the IMA
A large block of student priced tickets are available. Student tickets at $10 age 19 to 25, and $5 age 18 and under are available at the Indianapolis Museum of Art the night of the performance. All seating unreserved. Student attendance is welcome and encouraged.
The intrepid JACK Quartet wholly embraces the gifts of the new, focusing their dynamic energy on the performance and recording of new and contemporary works. Their concert at The Toby Theatre in the Indianapolis Museum of Art will be the centerpiece of a two concert visit to Indianapolis. Their program lets you experience the unfamiliar harmonies of a 14th century motet, the aural wonderland and extraordinary textures of György Ligeti, the unconstrained even unspecified chance aspects of the great Polish composer Witold Lutoslawski's 1964 Quartet, and the startlingly visceral, muscular tour de force quartet "Tetras" by Iannis Xenakis that has created concert hall sensations and standing ovations everywhere it is performed. IMA members may purchase discount tickets at www.imamuseum.org or by contacting the museum box office.
