Northern California PEMA Luncheon - August 2017
Speaker: Cheryl Prowell, PE is a Senior Water Resource Engineer at the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, San Francisco Bay Region
Synopsis: Join NCal PEMA for an update on SB 445, the Site Cleanup Subaccount Program (SCAP), which is a funding program established by Senate Bill (SB) 445 that allows the SWRCB to issue grants for projects that remediate the harm or threat of harm to human health, safety, or the environment caused by existing or threatened surface water or groundwater contamination.
About our Speaker: Cheryl Prowell, PE is a Senior Water Resource Engineer at the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, San Francisco Bay Region. She works in the Toxics Cleanup Division and is the Site Cleanup Program manager. Cheryl Prowell has over 16 years of experience in the environmental industry working on a variety of aspects of contaminant assessment and remediation. She obtained her B.S. in Engineering at Harvey Mudd College. She began her career as a consultant working in consulting primarily on projects for USEPA Region 9 and the Department of Defense. She has been a regulator for over 8 years, beginning at the San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board and transferring to the San Francisco Bay Region over 3 years ago.
