AACE Seattle Section May 11th, 2017 Meeting Best Western Plus Executive Inn 200 Taylor Avenue N. Seattle, WA
PRESENTATION: See the Finish Line - Linear Scheduling for Major Infrastructure Projects Your projects CPM schedule contains 2,638 activities and prints on 61 pages of Gantt charts. How are you going to review this schedule, and communicate it to your team in a format that they can use? In this session, youll learn how to create a linear schedule that illustrates your entire scope of work on a single page and illuminates critical relationships that would otherwise go unnoticed, all in a format thats easily understood by laypersons. Youll see how this method played a key role in delivering an award-winning $330M CSO tunnel project in Washington, DC, and how its currently being used on the Alaskan Way Viaduct Replacement here in Seattle. Dont let complexity stand in the way of achieving project objectives; after attending this session youll have a new tool in your toolbox to effectively communicate how your project will get done.
PRESENTER: James Wonneberg, PE, CCM James works with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver large-diameter tunnel projects, and frequently uses linear scheduling as his most-valuable project management tool. After three cross-country moves with his family to work on exciting projects, hes hoping to stay put in the Pacific Northwest for the foreseeable future. By day he provides construction management support to WSDOT with McMillen Jacobs Associates, and on nights and weekends he runs a software startup called GraphicSchedule.com.
