A Lecture by Shelley Berman!
24th Street Theatre, Sandra Tsing Loh and Frier McCollister welcome the Father of the Modern Monologue, Shelley Berman, to 24th Street Theatre! The legendary actor, comedian and writer will be appearing for one night only in a lecture and Q&A session.
In the proud educational tradition of 24th Street Theatre, Berman will deliver his signature lesson "Comedy and Its Reflections in History" for Los Angeles' next generation of humorists. Best known to modern audiences as Larry David's father, Nat, in HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm," Shelley Berman invented the modern comedic stage monologue in the 1950's with his classic phone improvs, still available on his Grammy-winning recordings.
Berman's lecture at 24th Street Theatre will be followed by a Q&A and, if Sandra Tsing Loh has her way, lots hugging and sharing. As Berman has mentioned specifically to Sandra that her work is not included in his lecture, we will see. _________________________
