Shakespeares shortest tragedy, thought to have first been performed in 1606, The Scottish Play explores the damaging physical and psychological effects of political ambition on those who seek power for its own sake. Of all the plays Shakespeare wrote during the reign of James I, who was patron of Shakespeare's acting company, Macbeth most clearly reflects the playwright's relationship with his sovereign.
Macbeth is the premiere production of Evening Star Productions Sol After Dark series. Seth Trucks and Sara Grant are collaborating to create a one-act adaptation consisting of a cast of four. Audience members will be immersed in all that is terrifying about power and the repercussions that follow.
The evening will be all-inclusive in one ticket price: a bite of theatre, refreshments and talk back with directors and cast after the show.
