Youth in Focus Presents: Doublexposure 2013!

This will be an inspiring event at the beautiful Seattle Design Center to benefit our youth development program. Doublexposure 2013 is vital to the sustainability of our photography classes, which have propelled youth to success for almost 20 years. Please join us and bring your friends to this fun and exciting event!
A nationally recognized youth program, Youth in Focus' mission is to empower urban youth, through photography, to experience their world in new ways and to make positive choices for their lives. We put cameras in the hands of low income, at-risk youth and place them in a challenging environment surrounded by high quality talented teachers, nurturing adult volunteer mentors, and create a strong community of support. Through photography our students find their voice, identity, creativity, and gain new confidence in their worth and abilities.
Since 1994, we have served over 2,700 young people from all over Seattle. We are committed to serving teens who have limited opportunities or face difficult challenges -- including poverty, racism, homophobia, depression, substance abuse and low achievement in school.
As one student put it, the most important learning that takes place in a Youth in Focus class is "learning about myself intensely."
