Revolutionary and Banned: The Start of Something Big
The Chamber Music Society of Central Virginia's "Revolutionary and Banned" series concludes with "The Start of Something Big" featuring the famous Octet by Mendelssohn, Beethoven's visionary Grosse Fuga, Handel's glorious cantata "Il Delirio Amorosa," and the electroacoustic music of Richmond's own Benjamin Broening.
"Revolutionary and Banned" is one of several chamber music events CMSCVA presents annually, this time programmed around the remarkable role chamber music has played in muscial, political and social history. The series features 17 celebrated musicians - international competition winners, favorite performers from Richmond's classical music scene, and world-class soloists who bring this thrilling music to life. The concerts will be held in the historic Wilton House Museum, the Bon Air Presbyterian Church, and the Gellman Room of the Main Public Library in downtown Richmond.
