Salmon Docent Training
Oct. 12 - Paul Dorn - Fish species, life cycle, local environmental issues, tribal perspectives, and 1-hour field trip to the Grover's Creek Hatchery
Oct. 19 - Victoria Poage - basic fish biology, ichthyology. Renee Johnson - tips for streamside docents. Mary Earl - Clear Creek tour
Oct. 26 - Jeff Adams - Stream bugs, stream habitat Indiviual 3-minute presentations. Rick Gillat - tour the preserve
- Training will be held 3 Thursdays in October. - Well be meeting at small, interesting venues with access to a stream, so registration is limited to 20 people.
- Participants will be required to research one thing about salmon or habitat and give a 3-minute presentation to their peers outdoors (this will help prepare you for your work as a docent).
- Trainees are required to work one shift at a Salmon Tours location Saturday, November 4, from 10-2.
- Trainees will receive an updated copy of the Kitsap Salmon Field guide, if needed.
