THE FANTASTICS, Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones' all-time longest running musical on Broadway,is a timeless allegory about two neighboring fathers who trick their children into falling in love. The inventive, breezy score includes both familiar, memorable and hummable tune after tune in a show suitable for all ages.
SILENT SKY by Lauren Gunderson is the story of Henrietta Leavitt, a brilliant 20th century woman who wangled her way into Harvard's astronomy department at a time when women were often barred from many fields of study and developed a way to use the stars' brightness to gauge their distance from one another, which became a standard used by astronomers all over the world. Gunderson transposed this story into a work of pure poetry that examines the life of an extraordinary woman. Great, inspirational entertainment for all ages.
AN EVENING OF ORIGINAL ONE-ACT PLAYS from seven Bay Area playwrights. With six talented actors/actresses playing all the parts, the seven original one-act plays written for this Festival promise to be an engaging theatrical event full of surprises and imagination.
