Love Letters of Heloise and Abelard - a Workshop
"...the story of a woman who did love, perhaps, as no one ever loved before or since..."
"He was a remarkable figure as a philosopher and scholar, but the world cares for him only because he was loved by Heloise."
The medieval love story of Heloise d'Argenteuil and Pierre Abelard is one of fierce passion and devotion, subjected to man's most cruel obstacles. Sixteen years after their final separation, a letter to a friend sparks a final series of letters between the lovers. Through these letters, their story has survived. Through these letters, Truant Arts will tell their story.
Join us as we hold our first workshop performance of this new piece of devised theatre. After the performance, there will be a talkback for those who wish to participate, or simply listen in. Your feedback and support will be an invaluable part of our process, and you will have the chance to give written feedback as well (but only if you want to!).
Of course, as at all Truant Arts events, there will be a bar. We encourage you to drink up!
