On September 23 and 24, 2017, Twin Cities Cabaret Artists Network (TCCAN) presents the 2nd Annual Cabaret Fest at the Bryant-Lake Bowl. TCCAN will host two exciting days of workshops and performances to enlighten, entertain, and engage Twin Cities attendees in the world of cabaret. Throughout the weekend, we will be highlight our cabaret artist members and bring awareness to the Twin Cities cabaret-rich community.
This event is designed for cabaret artists, musical theater enthusiasts, vocalists, and storytellers alike. The weekend will include educational events on Saturday and Sunday that are open to everyone, and geared towards those interested in exploring and learning more about the art of cabaret, with performances in the evenings.
Led by some of our most experienced TCCAN artists, SATURDAYS WORKSHOPS offer a variety of hands-on content for participants of all levels.For ournewcomers to the cabaret world, we will define what cabaret is and break down how a cabaret performance is crafted. For those of you who are alreadyactive cabaret enthusiasts and performers, we will venture into greater detail of song interpretation, text, and theme in developing a singular cabaret performance.
SUNDAY'S MASTER CLASS will provide a sneak preview into the behind-the-scenes world of the cabaret performer. Participants will watch and ask questions as TCCAN artists work on material with feedback provided by our outside panel of some of the Twin Cities finest expert Cabaret Directors, Musical Directors, and Coaches.
Each festival day will end with an evening of PERFORMANCES by our TCCAN Artists. With a different cast each night, spectators should be sure to catch both. Performers will be accompanied by two of the Twin Citiesfinest pianists, Steven Hobart and Harrison Wade.
Our programming doesnt stop on September 24! TCCAN offers monthly Cabaret Salons on the 3rd Saturday of every month in Blanches Lounge at the Town House in St. Paul. Upcoming performance dates and times are available on our website, TwinCitiesCabaretArtistsNetwork.com.
TCCAN was founded in 2008 with the intention of supporting professional singers dedicated to the art of Cabaret. In its effort to build a community that celebrates the art form and fosters its growth, TCCAN promotes awareness through performances, education events and outreach.
