Food City: Feast of the Five Boroughs/Seared/Caviar Dreams/Blind Sushi
Synopsis: In the not-too-distant past, all food was local. Hyper-local, in fact: if you didnt grow it or find it yourself, you didnt eat it. Today our food is hyper-global: wherever you are, you can get your food from any corner of the world. What might a return to hyper-localism look like today, now that more than half the worlds population live in cities?
Synopsis: Beaten by injustice and a life of crime, a young man's plan to end it all turns into a life of renewed hope and a passionate career as a chef.
Synopsis: Over the centuries caviar (i.e. - sturgeon eggs) was strictly reserved for Russian Czars and royalty throughout the world. Nowadays its become synonymous with wealth, fame, and indulgence. But why is that? What's so special about caviar? "Caviar Dreams" delves into the complex world of caviar, weaving a tapestry of caviar tales that leaves you knowing more than you ever thought possible about this unique delicacy. Beyond the assumed glamour and luxury associated with caviar, we uncover a story about over-fishing, poaching, near extinction, and a quest for sustainability.
Synopsis: A blind adventure writer and the first sustainable sushi chef search for enlightenment in the murky depths off the New England coast.
