Focus on Human Trafficking / Break the Chain
Synopsis: Human trafficking for labor and sex is one of the most profitable, yet unrecognized, illegal industries in the U.S. and it is going on unreported under our noses and in our own backyard. Break the Chain introduces us to two survivors who tell how and why it works so well. Kwami, a child survivor of labor trafficking, was enslaved for nearly five years with three other children in Ypsilanti, Michigan before someone noticed. In the Detroit area, Debbie was sold for sex during a vast majority of her teen years. The film shows how we are all connected to modern day slavery and what we can do to stop it. -------------------------------------------------------------------
