Hair in Concert presented by Encore Vocal Ensemble
In its first ever full-length musical production, Encore Vocal Ensemble is proud to present, in concert, the iconic 1960s rock-musical, Hair. Featuring hit songs such as "Aquarius/Let the Sun Shine," "Hair," and "Good Morning, Starshine, Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical provides a humorous, colorful, and often poignant look at the rise of hippie culture and the sexual revolution in the shadow of the Vietnam War.
Following a tribe of long-haired, politically active hippies living in bohemian New York City, Hair is a potent exploration of the themes that defined the Age of Aquarius identity, community, sexuality, global responsibility, and peace. Considered controversial and subversive in its time, Hair remains as relevant as ever as it examines what it means to be a young person in a changing world.
