Laura Cortese & the Dance Cards w/Haunt the House
Laura Cortese and the Dance Cards have a vision for their band's sound: bold and elegant, schooled in the lyrical rituals of folk music and backed by grooves that alternately inspire Cajun two-stepping and rock-n-roll hip swagger. Touring in support of their October 2017 release California Calling, Cellist Valerie Thompson (cello/vox), fiddler Jenna Moynihan (fiddle/vox), and Zoe Guigueno (bass/vox) pair their sophisticated string arrangements and rich vocal harmonies to fiddler and band leader Laura Cortese's poignant and powerful singing. The result is a sound that can start as a string band and morph into a string quartet, female a cappella group, or indie band; all while staying honest and true to their identity as folk instrumentalists.
Charlestown, RI's Haunt the House will open the show with his always beautifully written and delivered folk and Americana originals.
This show is part of the Warren Sessions presented by Common Fence Music at Hope & Main in Warren, RI. Doors open at 7pm, show starts at 7:30pm. This show is BYOB; Hope & Main vendors will sell other refreshments at the event.
