Laura Cantrell House Concert
The lovely Laura Cantrell returns to the Roots Hoot House Concerts with her band for a very special evening on Saturday, December 2. A Roots Hoot favorite and more, in her 17-year recording career, the Nashville-born and Queens-based Cantrell has released five acclaimed albums the latest of which is her 2014 release No Way There From Here. She has toured extensively in the United Kingdom, Europe and Ireland, and was a favorite of pioneering British disc jockey John Peel, who called her 2000 album Not The Tremblin Kind my favorite record of the last ten years, possibly my life. Cantrells music has been celebrated in the press including features in The New York Times, O Magazine, Elle, and the Wall Street Journal. Cantrell's music has been featured on NPRs All Things Considered, On Point, and Weekend Edition. She has performed on A Prairie Home Companion, Mountain Stage, and the Grand Ole Opry, and appeared on the television programs CBS Saturday Morning, Late Night with Conan OBrien, and the Sundance Channels Spectacle: Elvis Costello. Simply put, she is a special one. Find out for yourself right here in the heart of the Rocky Brook section of Peace Dale!
Doors are at 7 pm and show time at 7:30. Don't miss out! This is a BYOB/potluck show which means terrific food to go with an afternoon/evening of great music. Sounds like win-win to us.
