An Evening of Comedy With Jim Wiggins
Comedy returns to the Arena Theater with Jim Wiggins. Wiggins is a veteran of the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Last Comic Standing, the Las Vegas stage, and is in strong demand on the comedy circuit. He'll visit the theater for one show on Wednesday April 2, 2008. Doors open at 6:30pm with the show starting at 7:00pm. The theater's beer and wine bar and concessions will be open. Tickets are $15 and are on sale now at The Four-Eyed Frog Bookstore and The Sea Trader, Gualala; The Record Market & Cafe, Pt. Arena; Tangents, Ft. Bragg; and online at www.brownpapertickets.com. The Arena Theater is at 214 Main Street, Pt. Arena, CA.
As one reviewer put it, comedy with Jim Wiggins is "silly stuff & sad stories, a chili bowl of laughs and cracker barrel philosophy, slow cooked and spiced with hints of Will Rogers, Mark Twain, and George Carlin. It will fill you up and stick with you for awhile." Wiggins bills himself as "The Last Hippie in America", with a performance that is just as easygoing. Like many babyboomers, Wiggins is at an age where "things have started to go wrong" and each is worth some commentary and some great humor. Besides, babyboomers need company too.
Reviewers give him consistently high marks: "Wiggins is to comedy what salt and butter is to popcorn. . . ." Riviera Hotel - Las Vegas
". . . moments of social bite, dreamy theology, and uproarious silliness...pure and truthful." Minneapolis Star Tribune
"On stage, Wiggins is on target hilarious. . . . cool, deliberate, soft spoken; somewhat like the lull before a prison riot." Las Vegas Review and Journal
