First Generation Screening and panel discussion featuring Dave Eggers
ScholarMatch presents and exclusive screening of the award-winning documentary "First Generation", which tells the true story of four high school students who set out to break the cycle of poverty by pursuing a college education. Narrated by Golden Globe nominee Blair Underwood and followed by a Q&A panel discussion with students and educational leaders moderated by author and ScholarMatch founder, Dave Eggers.

ScholarMatch is a nonprofit organization in the Mission District of San Francisco that makes college possible for under-resourced college-bound students. By connecting students with resources, donors and schools, ScholarMatch uses a three-pronged approach to increase college persistence. ScholarMatch provides support services for students & their families and connects students with donors in the community. ScholarMatch uses a crowdfunding platform to allow individuals from the community to get involved with a student and invest in their academic journey, then follow the progress of that student through college.

Join us for this powerful screening and learn more about how you can connect with a student and make college possible.
