About the show:
Relax and step back into North Carolina in 1938. Join the Sanders family as they venture to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church at the request of Pastor Oglethorpe, who wishes to bring his tiny congregation into the modern world. Though the Sanders family tries to appear perfect in the eyes of the church, things dont go as planned and they reveal their hilariously imperfect natures. Loaded with gospel favorites like Ill Fly Away and Rock of Ages join KLT as we enjoy a change of pace in the musical Smoke on the Mountain.
About the Director:
Bobby Bodford is a veteran of stage and screen. As a professional director, playwright and actor, he has over 40 years experience. His directing credits include critically acclaimed productions of the Smoke on the Mountain Trilogy and Fiddler on the Roof for Twin City Stage; and most recently, Avenue Q and Madagascar Jr. for Community Theatre Greensboro. He just completed a summer camp at the Sunset Theatre in Asheboro NC where he directed his adaptation of Treasure Island.
