Shimshai Concert and Dance
Peacewave presents a concert and dance with Shimshai in Sebastopol September 16th @ 8PM
Surrounded by music from birth and formally trained on piano in his native state of Washington, today Shimshai performs effortlessly on guitar, sitar, flute, and a variety of woodwinds. He plays many of the instruments on his self-composed and self-produced albums.
Shimshai & Seraphim Sound System (his band) have a large underground following spanning the globe. Shimshais blend of Reggae, Jazz, Kirtan, South American music and folk, infused with a world beat influence is presented with high energy bass, drums and various other instruments.
Shimshais lyrics span multiple languages attracting international crowds. Fans in Israel, Colombia, BC, Australia, Europe and especially the Western US flock to Shimshais performances for a roots music experience. Shimshai deeply spiritual music has been creating devoted fans for more than a decade.
Shimshai has played at countless festivals around the world such as Earthdance, Harmony Festival in California and sharing the stage with such luminaries as Michael Franti, David Grisman, Mickey Hart, Jai Uttal, Ram Dass, Deepak Chopra, Bhagavan Das, Dezarie & members of Midnite, Hamsa Lila, Sasha Butterfly, Youssoupha Sidibe and many other gifted musicians.
