The Funkadelic 70s Movie Marathon
Get back, Jack! From the warped minds that brought you BOTH 80s Movie Marathons, its...THE FUNKADELIC 70s MOVIE MARATHON!!!!!!
Coming on like gangbusters, were screening six lost classics of 70s cool, and if you miss it you'll be the fool. Eleven hours long, and six movies strong, were screening every flavor of cinematic exploitation in the nation. Weve got Bruceploitation, Blaxploitation, Copsploitation, Discoploitation, Catholicsploitation, and one flick so weird its its own freaky creation.
We're not revealing the titles until they appear onscreen but these are all ultra-rare deep cuts, two of these movies have never been on DVD, and five of them have never been on Blu-Ray. Screening formats are:
* 1 movie on 16mm
* 3 movies on 35mm
* 2 movies on restored DCP
Do not choke, because this aint just bell bottom jokes. The 70s dished out white-knuckled, no-holds-barred flicks for hep cats and cool chicks, with displays of cinematic skill that are tight, and revolutionary politics that are out of sight.
Tickets are $25/person.
Philly is on fire, and so is New Jersey, New York, and Rome. If youve got delicate sensibilities we advise you to stay home, because these movies are hard, and they will cut you to the bone.
