RE|Dance Group's HOMELAND
RE|Dance Group's newest ensemble work explores memory, nostalgia and wonder. HOMELAND wrestles with the physical, emotional and intellectual notions of home and how we establish place in our lives. The dance uses personal stories and music from Artistic Director Michael Estanich's Appalachian roots to lead the audience through a series of vignettes and a central story that reveals the journey of a group of people being called back to a place filled with curiosity and peace. Continuing his investigation of sculptural environments, the principal theme is magnified by the visual décor of Hillary Landowski's 15-foot Tree of Light. The dancers navigate the environment with risky partnering, lush dancing, and delicate gestures.
Featuring Dancers: Daiva Bhandari, Lauren Bisio, Stacy DeMorrow, Michael Estanich, Gerard Gerace, Carolyn Marcotte, Chloe Nisbett, Melanie Rockwell, and Lucy Vurusic Riner
