Plein Air Painting Series

Thursdays, September 7-October 12
9 a.m.- Noon

Join artist Robert Sherrill for a six-part series in plein air landscape painting. Sessions will be held outdoors in the gardens, where the scenery of The Huntington offers endless inspiration.

This class is held in various locations on the grounds. Please check in with Huntington staff in the Banta Education Courtyard prior to class.

A supply list is below. Please bring to each day of class.

Watercolors paint: (Windsor Newton or Holbein are excellent)

Ultramarine Blue
Cerulean Blue
Cadmium Red Medium
Magenta
Cadmium Yellow Pale
Lemon Yellow

Optional: Any other colors are fine

Paper:

Watercolor paper, sheets or a Block. (Arches 140lb, cold press) around 9x12"
Watercolor palette, any you like. Holbein is good.

Brushes:

Sable or imitation sable brushes: 1 inch flat, #8round, #3 round

Additional:

small water bucket
Water to clean brushes
paper towels
trash bag
Any Field easel, French easel..
