KRG hosts their 5th annual Solar System Smackdown Mixer on August 5th. Roller derby skaters from all over the Midwest, including big cities like Detroit, Madison, and Milwaukee, have all signed up to battle it out among the stars and will be mixed into competing teams. The popularity of the SSS has grown so much that this year's event will be an out of this world roller derby DOUBLE HEADER! A $5 ticket will get you into BOTH games!
Every year the Venus Vixens have walked away the reigning champs, but the Big Bangers will give them a run for their money this time! Emerging into the orbital ring for the second game, the Solar Flair's are looking to lay a burn on the Quantum Leapers.
Just $5 at the door gets you access to an evening of intense roller derby action and fun. Bring your friends, bring a date! Bring your kids and enjoy some fun in the kid's fort with K.C. Bonker's crew. Children 10 and under have FREE entry!
The historic Calumet Colosseum offers 360 degree views of the action on the track. Want to get closer to the thrills and spills? Come down track side and sit your butts right up against the safety lane (Ages 18+) VIP Pass holders get first dibs on the kooshy seats up front.
HALFTIME: Belly Dance Group, "47 North" (we heard a rumor they may be bringing swords this time ... STELLAR!)
FOOD AND DRINK:
Wings and other delicious eats provided by Miller's Recreation. Trackside will have a selection of traditional domestic and Michigan craft beer, along with cider, and other refreshments.
