RAVEL: Pièce en forme de Habanera GNATTALI: Bossa Romântica MENDEZ: Romanza PIAZZOLLA: Lo Que Vendra and Nightclub BEASER: Mountain Songs HUSA: Five Poems for Woodwind Quintet
FOLLOW THE CCO MUSICIANS through the wonderfully rich world of chamber music. This intimate setting creates a musical experience far greater than the simple sum of the parts.
TO CLOSE THE CHAMBER MUSIC SERIES, we bring you some unexpected pairings with flute and guitar duos by Piazzolla and Beaser, plus some trumpet and guitar duos with the Ravel, Gnatali, and Mendez. We pay tribute to the long musical life of Karel Husa by performing his Five Poems. Mr. Husa was a long-time Ithaca resident and former CCO Music Director. Join us as we honor his accomplished career.
For this season, we'll offer a special treat with receptions intended to complement the music. It will be a wonderful way to spend an afternoon with memorable music, regional wine and beer tastings, and fellow music lovers! For April 15th, the wine and appetizer pairings are provided by the CCO Board of Directors.
Chamber music is often described as bringing together the best of both worlds. It allows each individual player to have an artistic voice while also having the joy of collaborative music-making. This intimate setting creates a musical experience far greater than the simple sum of the parts. Since 1987, the CCO has proudly presented a concert series devoted entirely to chamber music and we hope you'll join us for these programs that celebrate music that moves us.
