Cayuga Chamber Orchestra: Chamber Music Series #7
Sunday, November 5, 2017 Unitarian Church, Ithaca / 4:00 PM
BEETHOVEN: Piano Trio in E-flat Major, Op 1, No. 1 TCHAIKOVSKY: Souvenir de Florence, Op 70
FOLLOW THE CCO MUSICIANS through the wonderfully rich world of chamber music. This intimate setting creates a musical experience far greater than the simple sum of the parts.
The Tchaikovsky sextet is a beautiful work influenced by the composers time in Italy. And the overwhelming response to the All Beethoven concert last season prompted us to include another of his masterpieces this year.
For this season, we'll offer a special treat with receptions intended to complement the music. It will be a wonderful way to spend an afternoon with memorable music, regional wine and beer tastings, and fellow music lovers!
Chamber music is often described as bringing together the best of both worlds. It allows each individual player to have an artistic voice while also having the joy of collaborative music-making. This intimate setting creates a musical experience far greater than the simple sum of the parts. Since 1987, the CCO has proudly presented a concert series devoted entirely to chamber music and we hope you'll join us for these programs that celebrate music that moves us.
