A House Divided: The New Culture Clashes and the Future of the American Experiment
The United States is a nation divided along countless lines -- political, economic, racial, technological, generational, and more. Among many people -- but certainly not all -- there is confusion, pain, anger, fear, and all too commonly despair. This lecture series explores two dynamics. First, how did America and Americans get here? Second, can we plausibly move forward in a constructive manner? The future is uncertain, but it can be shaped by each of us in distinct ways. We must own our national imperfections and commit -- together -- to the hard work of building a more inclusive, more democratic version of the deeply flawed but still inspiring American experiment in democracy. It can be done, and it must be.
