Among the many celebrities who summered at Lake Hopatcong during its heyday as a resort was Bud Abbott, just before teaming with Lou Costello to form one of America's best loved comedy team of all time.
This final event of the "Abbott & Costello at the Palace" Film Festival will take place on Saturday evening, September 9 at 8:00pm. (Doors open at 7:30.)
The Lake Hopatcong Historical Museum is pleased to present this event at Netcong's historic Palace Theatre, built in 1919 and now home of The Growing Stage -- The Children's Theatre of New Jersey.
This presentation will feature a brief history of Lake Hopatcong's actors' colony; a live performance of classic Abbott & Costello comedy sketches by impressionists Gil "Bud" Palmer & Lou Sciara; and a very special visit with Chris Costello, the youngest daughter of Lou Costello, who will speak about her father and be on hand to meet & greet fans after the show.
Plus refreshments, raffles, and more!
