Urge 7th Anniversary Beers - AleSmith Velvet Speedway and The Bruery Rest
***Price INCLUDES Taxes & BPT fees*** ***Urge Gastropub is handling this sale - please do not call/contact AleSmith, Mostra or The Bruery with questions***
Man, I am so psyched for the release of these beers. We truly think that we made something pretty special with both of these. I'm sure that not everyone will agree but I think that, for the most part, those that will be able to enjoy these beers will be able to taste the love that went into them. Being able to celebrate 7 years of operations in an industry with so much turn over is pretty awe inspiring when we have a chance to reflect on it. For those of you that have supported us for these last 2557 days (there were 2 leap years!), this beer's for you!
Both beers will be on tap for our anniversary weekend on July 28-30 at our original location in Rancho Bernardo. After that, there will be some limited availability on draft at our Oceanside and San Marcos locations.

--------------------------------------------------------------- AleSmith Velvet Speedway
"AleSmith and Urge Gastropub have once again joined together to create this highly sought after version of Speedway Stout to celebrate Urge's 7th Anniversary. This year's brew has been aged in 60-year old Spanish Sherry barrels, 24-year old Central American Rum barrels, and 23-year old Evan Williams Bourbon Barrels, then infused with Madagascar Vanilla beans and locally roasted Jamaica Blue Mountain and Kopi Luwak Cold Brew from Mostra Coffee. The result is a truly collaborative beer that combines notes of oak, fruit, vanilla and burnt sugar with a strong chocolate and malt backbone. Let the celebration begin!"
--------------------------------------------------------------- The Bruery Rest
"This crazy idea started out simple enough. How do we create something special for our 7th anniversary. Things got a lot more complicated from there. We began by brewing 6 individual component beers and barrel aging each of them separately for 8 months in bourbon barrels. Afterward, we blended them each together to create an incredible 7th beer that was barrel aged for an additional 8 months in the most insane red wine barrels we could get our hands on. Seriously. We can't tell you where they were from but we can tell you that the wine that comes out of them goes for $800 a bottle. And we got to age a beer in that. The resulting beer is an amalgamation. Something that's truly greater than the sum of it's parts. It's also the most unique beer we will likely ever create. Enjoy!"
--------------------------------------------------------------- Purchasing Instructions:
1) Please read all instructions before purchasing any bottles!
2) Starting Friday, July 21st at 11:00am PST, you will be able to purchase up to (2) two bottles of Velvet Speedway Stout via Brown Paper Tickets (price INCLUDES BPT service fee) and/or up to (3) three bottles of Rest via Brown Paper Tickets (price INCLUDES BPT service fee). Rest will not see distribution and will only be available to some Society members outside of this sale.
3) PICKUP WINDOW: Bottles can be picked up starting Friday, July 28th at our sister restaurant, Brothers' Provisions (16451 Bernardo Center Dr) beginning at 2pm. We're sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause but their liquor license allows for bottles to go and Urge's does not. The Man makes the rules, not us. Bottles can also be retrieved during normal operating hours from Saturday, July 29th through Sunday, August 13th 2017. **Any bottles not retrieved by SUNDAY, AUGUST 13th will be surrendered back to Urge (no exceptions).**
4) PICKUP PERSON: In an effort to ensure that as many of the locals that have supported us for the last 7 years are able to purchase these bottles, we are NOT allowing proxies. Sorry Bob from Minnesota, we like you too and want you to try this amazing beer but Sarah from Escondido comes in every week. Therefore, BOTTLES CAN ONLY BE PICKED UP BY THE PURCHASER. No exceptions. You will be asked to present your ID at Brothers' when you pick up your bottles and it needs to match the purchasers name we get via PBT.
5) ADDITIONAL PURCHASES: Do not purchase more than the maximum allowed! We are placing a (2) two bottle limit on these bad boys to try and spread the love around. We like hoarding great beer as much as the next guy, but this is a celebration and it's meant to be shared! Once you place your order, your name will be registered and any additional sales to the same purchaser will be voided. Any overages for whatever reason will be cancelled without notification. We've gotta try to keep it fair.
6) DO NOT PURCHASE UNLESS YOU ARE SURE YOU CAN MAKE IT TO BROTHERS' PROVISIONS BY AUGUST 13th, 2017.
7) You will need to show a valid ID matching the name listed as the pickup person and confirmation of purchase from Brown Paper Tickets in order to retrieve your bottles during the dates listed. We know we said it twice but we want to make sure you really, really, really understand this...
