Milwaukee Youth Theatre presents the performance of The Princess and the Pea performed by young people in MYT's studio space. The play is based on the tale written by Hans Christian Andersen and directed by Brittany Curran. In the world of magical kingdoms, a prince is searching the world for a princess to marry. With every encounter, the prince faces disappointment and problems. He returns to his castle, footsore and heart sick. One night, during a rain storm, a beautiful young lady comes knocking at the castle door seeking shelter and claiming to be a princess. The queen is doubtful, so she places a tiny pea underneath twenty mattresses and gives this odd sleeping arrangement to the princess for the night, because royal identity is established by the physical sensitivity of a princess. Could she be a real princess? Is this the princess for whom the prince has been searching?
