Handmade Bookbinding Workshop!
In this class you will learn a style of bookbinding that you will be able to do on your own again and again. Cutting down all the complexities of standard bookbinding this style will still create a beautiful, sturdy, one of a kind book! All materials are upcycled/salvaged and will be provided. You will assemble your book from scratch choosing the paper, fabric from the inside out and hand stitching in the paper. Come hang, create, share stories, and leave with a one of a kind handmade book!
The class will be held in my Artisan Studio Workspace in West Oakland. We will be surrounded by handmade textiles, jewelry, yarns, and other creations. We have weavers, textile/fiber artists, natural dyers, jewelry makers, wood carvers, a painter and herbal cosmetic maker working out of the space.
The class will take about 3 hours. Tea and light snacks provided.
