Joanne Lurgio is a truly gifted songwriter. Her stunning lyrics, combined with her beautiful voice and wonderful guitar work, will prompt you to chase your dreams. Her original songs include a tale or two about ordinary people who, like her, excel and inspire. Joanne's newest CD release, Nothing Remains the Same, garnered the 2010 Album of the Year award at the Motif Music Awards. The album was recorded and produced by Mike Dunbar in Nashville, the heart of music country.
Joanne's singing and guitar work, honed and polished in the venues of New England, have brought her much well-deserved recognition, including being named "Best Singer and Songwriter" in both 2007 and 2011 by Motif Magazine. Joanne's music has a distinct Americana feel with New England charm. She moves from country to bluegrass, from folk and r&b to gospel, all with a bluesy undertone.
Marc Douglas Berardo is the kind of hard working, fast moving, adventure seeking, keen observer who lives for the story and the song. In what amounts to song-length works of fiction, Berardo's sharply drawn portraits cast a net on unusual and beguiling characters and places. With a painter's eye for detail, and music firmly rooted in the great American sound, Berardo sings about circus retirees, expatriates in Florida rum bars, union iron workers, old poets, aimless New York City debutantes, near-death car crashes, hard-nosed fishermen and of course, the changes that experience brings to everyone. His latest CD, Downhauler, features songs about searching for home, the possibility of renewal, and the promise of adventure.
Marc performs an average of 150 gigs a year - everywhere from bars and house concerts to theaters and national festivals. Along the way he has shared the stage with a variety of the very best in acoustic, folk and rock music, including Livingston Taylor, John Hiatt, Cliff Eberhardt, blues legend Chris Smither, NRBQ, Steve Forbert, Red Molly, Garnet Rogers, and Cheryl Wheeler, among many others.
When not playing his songs all over the place, Marc Douglas Berardo lives in a heavily secluded and fortified compound on a river near the ocean in Westerly, Rhode Island.
