Riberola Festival
We are very excited to invite you all back to Riberola for a very special gathering in the Southern Catalonian Mountains. The festival is set in the 200 acre Riberola Valley with great mountain and forest views and a river with swimming holes running through the site.
The gathering will include 4 days of camping, folk music, workshops (in permaculture, foraging walks, singing and crafts), healing activities (yoga, massage), discussion groups, daytime acoustic riverside musical sessions, wild river swimming, local organic food and wine, missions through the mountains, and much more!
Tickets are inclusive of meals for the duration of the festival made with local organic produce. This is 9 meals over the course of the weekend (Thursday dinner, Friday-Sunday Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner). All food is freshly prepared at our on site kitchen.
Full musical line up will be announced in the coming weeks, but let us assure you, it will be great!
GETTING HERE:
You could cycle, take a coach or fly.
Riberola is located between the villages of Benifallet and El Pinell de Brai in the Terra Alta region of Catalonia. The site is accessed via La Via Verde, a former railway track between Tortosa and Alcaniz, which runs through spectacular scenery now resurfaced for walkers, cyclists and people on horseback.
The closest airports to the site are Reus (1.5 hours from site) or Barcelona central (2 hours from site).
From Barcelona you can catch a train from Barcelona Sants to Tortosa (closest train station to the site). There are 8 trains per day each way on this route.
For train times check http://rodalies.gencat.cat/ca
The train is €15 and is always the same price; the easiest way is to buy your ticket on the day at the station (If you are coming from the airport then buy your ticket at the airport station as its easier).
We will be running shuttle busses from Tortosa to the festival site, which is a 30 minute drive. You need to reserve your place on the shuttle bus . Please let us know which time train you will be on and we will make sure we are there to welcome you.
From Reus airport we will also be running shuttles to the site.
Please let us know if there are some of you that would prefer to travel by coach as we will arrange a group bus.
LEAVE NO TRACE:
The festival site is a true wilderness and generally exists as a beautifully peaceful ecosystem. We need to be very conscious, and aware of our environmental impact to this area, and in no way damaging to it.
We will be giving out cigarette butt holders, please make use of them and encourage others to do so.
The festival will be totally off grid, and completely solar powered.
Our vegetables, wine, honey, olive oil and most things used at the festival will be sourced from within a few miles radius of the festival site by small scale producers.
Bring a water bottle with you, we won't be selling bottled water on site as there will be a plentiful supply of fresh mountain water to keep you hydrated.
If you need more info please email Riberolafestival@gmail.com and we'll be straight back to you!
See you in the valley folks!! x
