2017 Maine Cheese Festival
25 Maine Creameries, 11 Maine Artisanal Food Producers, Food Court with 6 Maine Food Vendors, live music, and an exciting line-up of educational demonstrations
The Maine Cheese Guild's signature event and fundraiser of the year showcases the largest gathering of Maine cheesemakers and cheese centric craft food vendors. The Festival is an opportunity to mingle with Maine cheesemakers, taste over a hundred varieties of cheese, purchase Maine-made cheese, and learn about the burgeoning artisanal cheesemaking movement in Maine. This year we will have more space, more cheese, and more vendors offering Maine-made foods including Maine food trucks! Savage Oakes Winery tastings will be available for those age 21 and over.
Savage Oakes is a true farm, home to a herd of Belted Galloway cattle along with its vineyard and wine making facility. One of the distinguishing features of Savage Oakes wine is that it is made from grapes grown on their farm. They offer plenty of on-site parking and space for picnicking and just plain gazing at the scenery.
The Festival is rain or shine. Bring your cooler to transport your cheese purchases safely home, or you can purchase our small insulated bags featuring our Eat Maine Cheese logo, they will be available for sale at the Maine Cheese Guild Tent for $5. We invite you to bring chairs or a blanket for picnicking in the vineyard.
Admission is free for Children under 12. Please leave your dogs at home. Please print your tickets and present them at the entrance.
The Maine Cheese Festival is a fundraiser organized by the Maine Cheese Guild which has a mission to "...support and encourage the Maine cheese-making community through development of a collective voice to promote Maine cheese and cheesemakers, educate cheese makers and consumers, coordinate resources and share the joy and art of regional cheeses."
