The Color of August
SATE presents Paloma Pedreros Spanish drama, The Color of August, translated and adapted by Will Bonfiglio, with dramaturgy and editing by Miranda Jagels Felix. Two artists who have been friends since childhood are reunited after an eight year separation. Maria has triumphed in Lauras absence, but Laura proves to be the stronger of the two in their artistic and personal rivalries.
SATEs performing ensemble includes Ellie Schwetye and Rachel Tibbetts. Schwetye and Tibbetts will perform The Color of August in rep, where each actor will learn both the roles of Maria and Laura, and the casting will be decided by an audience member each night through a symbolic coin toss.
The Color of August is directed by Lucy Cashion. The production stage manager is Kristen Strom. Lighting and set design by Bess Moynihan and costume design by Liz Henning. Sound design by Lucy Cashion. Original paintings by Anne and Maggie Genovese. Graphic design by Dottie Quick and photography by Joey Rumpell.
