PRS3: August Reading of Monologues
On Friday August 11th, WCT continues its 2017 Play Reading Series with PRS3: August Monologues directed by Bob Rogerson. The varied offering of monologues ranges from warm comedies to compassionate dramas. Each piece has been developed and dramaturged through WCTs ongoing lab workshop process where member actors and writers bring new pieces to life. The production runs Friday August 11th at 8pm, Saturday 12th at 2pm and 8pm and Sunday 13th at 3 pm at WCT Westchester Collaborative Theater, 23 Water Street, Ossining, NY. The Sunday, August 13th performance will be followed by a talk-back with the playwrights and director. Limited seating; advance purchase is suggested. Tickets are $15 for general admission with discounts available for WCT members, seniors, students and groups of 4+.
The production will be directed by WCT board member and professional acting coach, Bob Rogerson.

Director Bob Rogerson last directed for WCT in October 2015, the reading of Angelo Parras full-length drama, The Mnemonist. His directorial experience covers the range from amateur and university stages (Canvases/42nd Street BlackBox; Comic Potentia/Newport News;) to professional venues (Shell Shock/NYC; Youre A Good Man Charlie Brown/Boston; and Bobs own adaptation of Twains musings to create Adam & Eve (As Seen RThrough the Pen of Mark Twain) to name just a few. Rogerson is one of the founding members of The Actors Process, an actors continuing study program, addressing the work of professional actors. As a proud member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA, Rogerson has worked in almost every medium of the entertainment industry, including stage, screen, and television.
WCTs 2017 Play Reading Series will conclude with an October production that will run four performances from October 20 to October 22. The play reading series encompasses a variety of play genres, such full length, monologues and one acts as part of the Companys commitment to develop new works. Each piece is developed in WCT workshop labs and has participated in the collaborative dramaturgy process. Audience feedback during each of the talk-back performances will facilitate further development of the work.
Westchester Collaborative Theater is a multicultural, cooperative theater company located in Ossining, NY, dedicated to developing new work for the stage and bringing live theater to the community. It is comprised of local playwrights, actors, and directors who employ a Lab approach in which new stage works are nurtured through an iterative process of readings, critiques, and rewrites. When work is ready for production, it is produced for the public at our performance space.
WCT is committed to furthering theater arts in our community. It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and a recipient of production grants from ArtsWestchester and New York State Council on the Arts.
