Feelings

How many works have we developed to keep us from saying "I'm scared?" How many of us have used theory to make our feelings more legitimate? In this creative workshop we discuss jealousy, loneliness, hurt, love longing, and all of the parts of ourselves that were supposed to cut out for the classroom or the 9-5. We come into our days and lives with trauma and we have to develop the language, frameworks, and strategies for emotional justice.

ALOK VAID-MENON (they/them) is a performance artist, writer, educator, and entertainer. For the past decade Alok has worked with feminist, queer, and trans movements across the world. Their eclectic sense of style, political humor, and poetic challenge to the gender binary have been internationally renowned.
