Magdalena is a performance memoir by Gabri Christa for small spaces and living rooms. The solo, through dance, visuals, and storytelling, takes on the life of Gabri's mother Magdalena and reveals big issues coming to light in her life: race relationships, post-traumatic stress, immigration, motherhood, Dutch colonialism and dementia. Written, created, and performed by Gabri Christa. Directed by Erwin Maas.
PASS is a curated performance series presented on the last Saturday of the month at the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art. The salons focus is on original works in performing arts (music, dance, theater, and multimedia) in different stages of development. When possible, works are developed in residence at Snug Harbor. Each PASS presentation has a pre-performance reception and is followed by an artist talk. The 2017-2018 PASS season is curated by Melissa West.
